Free Breakfast & Lunch Meals for L-S Students

Beginning Monday, September 14, 2020, all Lynnville-Sully enrolled students are eligible to eat school breakfast and lunch free of charge.  The free meals will be offered through December 31, 2020, or until federal funding is no longer available. Not included are a la carte items, semester milk for elementary students, and any other “extra” purchases outside of the meal.

How is the school able to offer free breakfast and lunch to students? The school district is able to offer free breakfast and lunches to students through a nationwide United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) waiver. The school will receive federal reimbursement for all students who eat breakfast and lunch.

Do I have to sign my student up to participate in the free breakfast and lunch provided by the school? No, you do not need to sign your child up to participate. All students who go through the breakfast and lunch line will be served a free breakfast and/or lunch. NOTE: 6-12 students still need to continue to bring their lunch tickets to have scanned in the lunch line.

The school district will notify parents via email and text when the federally funded program is no longer available (at which time we will begin charging students for meals again).
