Notice to Bidders for the Wireless Upgrade E-Rate

The purpose of the Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit from vendors proposals to upgrade the wireless system for the Lynnville-Sully Community School District campus.  General information about the District can be found on the District's website at  The District is seeking to implement extended, secure coverage to all points within the elementary/middle school building, high school building, playground, and athletic fields.  The acquisition will include AP's/controllers, with the option of Layer 2 (and potentially Layer 3) PoE switches with the ability to support fiber uplink between closets, and centralized management.  This project may be directed, in part, by our E-rate funding.


  1. The installation of the new wireless system will create a robust, high density network that will provide a consistent, and effective wireless network.
  2. Supported by highly qualified and reliable vendor with experience in complex network implementations.
  3. Mainstream products with strong manufacturer commitment and vendor support, preferably with school experience.
  4. Easy to use and readily accepted.
  5. Wireless standards 802.11ac/n, and minimum switch port speed of 1Gb.
  6. Easily maintained by network administrators thorough a centralized management system/software.

1.4  Notice of Intent to Propose


Those submitting proposals are required to submit a Letter of Intent no later than February 12thst, 2018 via e-mail to Director of Technology Shane Wheeler at  The letter must be submitted on the vendor's letterhead.  Please identify the name, address, phone number, fax number, and e-mail address of the person who will serve as key contact for all correspondence regarding this RFP.


Submission of the Letter of Intent constitutes the vendor's acceptance of the procedures, evaluation criteria, and all administrative instructions of this RFP. Letters may be withdrawn at any time before the deadline for submission.  A list of all vendors submitting a letter of intent will be available upon request.


1.5  Deadline for Questions from Vendors


Questions with regard to the RFP maybe asked via email, phone call or facility tours.

Official answers will be e-mailed to all proposing vendors.

In order to make information available to all proposing vendors, no questions will be answered past February 16th, 2018, as stated in schedule in Section 1.4.

1.6  RFP Submission


Please submit the proposal, in its entirety, to the contact and address below no later than February 21st, 2018 3 PM by Sealed proposals must be submitted as a hard copy.
