Five L-S girls, coach honored in SICL Conference (Hometown Press article)

Girls’ SICL Conference honors were released last week with five Hawk players and one L-S coach being recognized.

Senior Brenna Lanser and sophomore Carson Fisk were both named First Team All-Conference by unanimous selection. Lanser is one of the all-time leading scorers in L-S girls five-player basketball history. She put up 434 points this season, averaging 18.1 points per game. She also averaged 7.3 rebounds per game for a total of 176 this season. Fisk was the next top shooter with 260 points (10.8 per game average), and she averaged 6.1 rebounds per game (146 total).

Other L-S honorees included junior Mariah Vos, who was selected for the Second Team All-Conference. Honorable mention went to senior Jelissa Rozendaal and junior Camryn Russell.

Coach Jerry Hulsing, in his 26th year at the helm of the Hawk girls basketball team, was chosen as Coach of the Year. He led the L-S team to a 21-3 season in which they finished first in the conference.

The Iowa Girls Coaches Association also named the All-District teams last week with Lanser and Fisk selected for the All-District Class 1A Southeast Team.
